About Chris

Chris is the Managing Attorney for the HOA Section at the Porter Law Firm and joined the firm in 2022. As a real estate and litigation attorney since 2012, Chris’ primary focus is residential and commercial property owner association law. His law practice has included representing hundreds of associations and real estate developers in Austin and the Greater Houston area. Chris was one of the first attorneys in Houston to be Board Certified in Property Owner Association Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Chris’ approach to property owner association law emphasizes communication and customer service that extends from the community’s manager and Board of Directors to the individual homeowners he interacts with on behalf of his clients. Chris’ dedication to the communities that he represents also allows him a lot of volunteer opportunities, ranging from trash clean up along the Houston bayous and volunteering at the Houston Marathon. As a volunteer, Chris also serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Associations Institute’s Greater Houston Chapter and was elected Board President in 2021. In 2022, Chris was elected Chairman of the organization’s statewide Legislative Action Committee, an organization dedicated to legislative advocacy and lobbying on behalf of the community association industry.
